Description
Resincoat High-Build Anti-Slip Floor Paint is a 100% solids epoxy coating enriched with graded silica sand for exceptional traction. Opting for Resincoat’s High Build Floor Paint means selecting a product meticulously refined and rigorously tested in our laboratory, ensuring unparalleled quality. This formula has gained widespread popularity in the UK due to its substantial thickness and remarkable durability. In contrast to many water-based or solvent-extended alternatives that tend to flake or wear prematurely, our Resincoat High Build Epoxy Floor Paint guarantees a superior, long-lasting finish, representing a commitment to enduring excellence.
For areas where safety of staff and the public is paramount, this coating is the perfect solution. We offer three grades of sand blend to choose from to suit your needs. These are:
- Anti-Slip Fine: A fine scatter of silica sand throughout the coating designed to add non-slip properties whilst maintaining as much of a smooth, glossy finish as possible.
- Anti-Slip Medium: A little more heavy duty than fine, but not quite as much as coarse. This blend produces a textured finish that provides enough grip to prevent most accidents, even in wet conditions.
- Anti-Slip Coarse: Our highest grade of anti-slip coating, this blend offers exceptional protection in dry conditions and will resist a majority of slips in wet conditions. Our coarse finish will produce a more textured/graded finish, so this is often used in areas where safety is key.
Application Guide
Preparation:
Before applying our garage floor paint we advise that you sweep and vacuum the area. Old paint finishes should be removed if flaking, however if well bonded you can abrade or sand to create a mechanical key prior to applying Resincoat Anti-Slip Floor Paint. Preparing the floor mechanically (shot blasting or grinding) is always advisable for best results, but if that is not possible, sanding the area or our Etch and Clean is a good alternative. For more information on preparation, please see technical data sheet.
Priming:
• For new concrete floors prime with Resincoat Damp Tolerant Primer
• For dusty or old floors prime with Resincoat Deep Penetrating Primer
• For greasy floors with oil residue clean thoroughly scraping off any dust or dirt and prime with Resincoat Oil Tolerant Primer
Application:
We advise when applying this product the ambient temperature is at least 7°C. Please note for 2 coats you will require 2 epoxy rollers.
*Please note for both fine & medium anti slip profiles the anti slip additive is already pre-mixed in part A.
1. Mix parts A & B together by using a paddle attachment to an electric drill. (For coarse anti slip your part C anti-slip additive, will be added later)
2. Continue to mix until a uniform colour is achieved and the curing agent is fully dispersed throughout the mixture
3. Once mixed and therefore chemically activated, the product will have a pot life of around 20 minutes at 20°C.
4. Begin to roll out the coating in an even, consistent method and scatter in Part C as you go
5. Be sure to back-roll with the wet roller as your sand is scattered to fully encapsulate it inside the epoxy resin formula
6. Once dried you may wish to add a top-coat using the same method. If coating a larger area, you may wish to get the help of a second pair of hands.
7. If you are using a second coat, coat 2 should be applied after a minimum of 14 hours and before a maximum of 24 hours.
PLEASE NOTE: The pot life of this product is 20 minutes. This means the paint will start to chemically cure after this time. Ensure you remove the paint from the tin in this window. The paint will then be workable on your floor for 40 minutes.
Pot life = Time to harden in pot following addition of hardenerWorking Time = Time to apply product before becoming unworkable
