Application Guide
Preparation:
Sweep and vacuum the designated area. Remove old paint finishes if flaking. If well adhered, abrade or sand to generate a mechanical key prior to the application of Resincoat Industrial Floor Paint. Mechanically preparing the floor (through shot blasting or grinding) gives the best results. Alternatively, sanding or our Etch and Clean solution are good substitutes. For detailed prep instructions, refer to our technical data sheet.
Priming:
We recommend the use of Resincoat Epoxy Primer prior to application of this product.
Application:
Ensure ambient temperature is at least 7°C.
- Mix Part A separately using a paddle attached to a drill for about 1 minute. Then add ALL of Part B and mix for another 90 seconds.
- Pour the mixture into a paint scuttle or tray.
- Immediately begin using a nylon-bonded resin-appropriate roller.
- For edges, use a brush (an extra pair of hands is beneficial).
- Re-coat as soon as the first coat begins curing (about 12-24 hours).
- Once cured, the surface is ready for foot traffic. However, hold off heavy equipment for the first 48 hours. Avoid chemicals, including water, for the initial 7 days (full chemical cure).
PLEASE NOTE:
The product’s pot life is 20 minutes. Once parts are mixed, the paint starts to chemically cure after this duration.
Ensure paint removal from the tin within this timeframe. Once applied, the paint remains workable on your floor for up to 40 minutes.
Useful Information
- Each coat requires a new roller sleeve.
- This product is NOT UV stable, meaning it can discolour with consistent sunlight exposure.
- Do NOT split this product. Taking portions from each tin, even if measured correctly, can result in activation issues.
The product is NOT self-levelling.
